German developer Lich Again just revealed that their upcoming co-op psychological horror game Phylakterion will release on the 20th of February as part of the Steam Mystery Fest.
The game will release in Early Access, allowing players to be included in the development process. By joining Phylakterion’s Discord channel (https://discord.gg/8vaFexdDFH
), players can give their feedback or express wishes for future content and balance updates to make Phylakterion the best game it can be.
What makes Phylakterion special:
Phylakterion is very much focused on items: You use your trusty ghost-hunter’s items to hunt a haunted item/vessel, while the entitiy possessing it is out on the hunt for you! Essentially, you play against the entity, that will try to scare and kill you and your friends, AND its vessel, which can be pretty much any item around the location, and which might even teleport around to hide itself. This dualism adds a new complexity to the genre.
The developers at Lich Again Games are avid Phasmophobia-players themselves, and started playing with self-imposed challenges after memorizing all the items’ and props’ placements in the game. That’s when they decided that it was time to develop their own game, in which items won’t necessarily stay where they are!
