Blaze Entertainment, makers of the Evercade cartridge-based gaming systems, and British publishing legend Team17 are delighted to bring the first compilation of Amiga games to Evercade with the Team17 Collection 1 cartridge.
10 great games from the veteran games industry company are included on a physical cartridge for the first time and are also the first time that Amiga emulation has been legally available for a handheld gaming system.
The full games list includes:
- Alien Breed Special Edition ‘92
- Alien Breed II
- Alien Breed Tower Assault
- Arcade Pool
- ATR: All Terrain Racing
- Body Blows
- Full Contact
- Kingpin: Arcade Sports Series Bowling
- Project X: Special Edition ‘93
- Qwak
Each Evercade gaming cartridge comes in a branded Evercade cartridge box with a collection number on the spine, and also includes a full colour manual detailing how to play as well as some hints and facts about the games.
This collection marks the first from Evercade utilising Amiga emulation, with many more planned over the coming years. With official and legal Amiga emulation only just coming to market, Evercade’s handheld gaming devices are the first portable gaming systems to run these titles in a legal and fully licensed way.
The Team17 Collection 1 cartridge will work on all Evercade hardware running the latest firmware (FW Versions 3.0.X and above) and will feature all the benefits of Evercade’s emulation, including save and load states which can be used on all up-to-date Evercade hardware and display settings including selectable screen sizing and a new 50Hz PAL mode for supported televisions.
Whilst many home computer titles received ports to various home consoles, many of Team17’s titles were mostly only published on Amiga or PC systems. Meaning that this collection is the first time any of these games have been available on a console-based device. Fighting titles like Body Blows and Full Contact have never been released outside of Amiga, and fan-favourite franchises like Alien Breed are making their return to console gaming for nearly three decades.
This new collection takes Evercade and Team17 fans on a journey to the very start of the Worms’ publisher and allows many to rediscover and others to enjoy for the first time an important period in game development history.
The Evercade Team17 Collection 1 will be available to buy from all Evercade retailers on May 31st, 2023, and will be available to pre-order from March 17th, 2023. This will be the third home computer collection from Evercade, which will have a blue coloured spine to denote the platform. This is not the first time a collection from Team17 has been released on Evercade with 2021’s Worms Collection 1 (18) releasing 3 great console-based Worms titles. That collection is available now from all Evercade retailers.
