Atari Goes All-In on Horror with Basic Math: Seven Ate Nine

Advertising

Not even Geiger, Carpenter, or del Toro could conjure something this depraved.

Later this year, Atari will unleash unbridled horror in the form of Basic Math: Seven Ate Nine exclusively on Atari Jaguar VR. This diabolically bone-chilling survival horror title takes everything you love about the innocent, pure joy of Basic Math Recharged and turns it into an abomination so monstrous, so vile, that the only way to properly experience it is in VR.

In Basic Math: Seven Ate Nine, you’ll step into the shoes of aspiring author and prolific food critic, Nine. Nine’s latest assignment has landed him squarely in the heart of bustling New York City, the place where any number can put down their square roots and call it home. Food critic by day and urban explorer by night, Nine’s curiosity gets the best of him when he decides to follow up on a Craigslist ad for a private tour of the New York underbelly’s greatest street food vendors. The tour guide? A demented, psychotic killer-turned-cannibal known as Seven.

The twists, turns, and nerve-shattering gameplay in Basic Math: Seven Ate Nine will undoubtedly leave you in the fetal position, but not without an unmistakable mastery of fractions and basic division.

“Most people don’t know this about me, but I’m an avid Atari Jaguar VR player. I play almost every day. The idea for Basic Math: Seven Ate Nine was born out of a need for more games on the platform once I ran out of titles to play,” said Atari CEO Wade Rosen. “I asked our top developers to create something truly horrifying based on my favorite video game, Basic Math. We can’t wait to get your hands on this when it comes out, but remember, this isn’t a game for the faint of heart.”

Key Features of Basic Math: Seven Ate Nine

  • THE NUMBERS, NINE! WHAT DO THEY MEAN?!: Get lost in a compellingly  formulated story and see how deep the five-hole goes
  • Easy Play: If you don’t have the hugely popular and widely available Jaguar VR headset on hand, worry not — Basic Math Recharged 2: Seven Eight Nine is also playable on YI 83 calculators
  • Secret Leaderboard: Race to the top of the global leaderboard and claim bragging rights. But brag as you may, you won’t be able to show your friends. Only we can see the leaderboard. Sorry.
